Building the project
The bill of quantities, room and device lists, distribution board plans, floor plans, the customer's email: hand your AI assistant what you already have. ETS Power Editor gives it hands — and the expertise that goes with them. It works directly in the project you have open:
Whatever is not in your documents, it asks about. You keep working in the ETS alongside it.
Parametrising
The app supports your AI just as reliably when parametrising your devices. It is your AI assistant that names the goal, not the route — the app finds that itself. Where the instruction is ambiguous, it presents the options instead of guessing.
For this the app turns the huge product databases of the devices in your ETS into structured information for your AI. You do not have to supply anything else — which also leaves you entirely free in your choice of manufacturer.
The same goes for more complex devices: a smart touch push-button with its pages, tiles and functions just as much as a switch actuator channel. On top of that it comes with general KNX knowledge — for example trades, topology and the way an ETS project is put together.
Device configuration apps (DCAs) that some manufacturers supply for setting up their devices in the ETS are not necessarily supported — their structures are not readily accessible.
Where does my project data end up?
Anyone working with AI today is right to ask. So here is the answer, before you have to go looking for it. Here, DATA PROTECTION is top priority! In IT, collecting no data and keeping the rest to a minimum is the simplest protection against data breaches — what is not there cannot be lost either. Anything else makes no sense to us.
What does my AI see?
Of course your AI has to be given the data it is meant to work with.
You can, however, make some of the contents of the ETS project inaccessible to the AI: in the Privacy section you block the entries from the project header — the project name is often your customer's address — and individual device parameters such as stored credentials.
Blocked values never reach the AI at all; all it sees there is "hidden".
Local access only
The connector runs exclusively on your own computer and cannot be reached over the network. It starts in read-only mode, you grant write access in the ETS, and every action is written to the log. You open ETS Power Editor inside a project — before that the ETS does not run it at all, and afterwards it has access to nothing but the project it is running in.
Your AI
Through the open MCP standard (Model Context Protocol) you work with the AI application of your choice: Claude Desktop, Cursor, Antigravity, ChatGPT (Codex) or any other that speaks MCP. You choose and pay for the artificial intelligence yourself.
It also works without an AI application: a script engine for batch commands from Excel.

The Reconstruction tool can be used to read out devices in the installation and then create a new ETS project or update an existing project. You may also compare the data from the installation against an ETS project.
This allows to work on projects where the ETS database has been lost or is out of date. This will also work for installations which were created with a previous version of ETS.
These items can be reconstructed: topology, devices with individual address, application program, parameter settings and group object flags, priority and assigned group addresses. You need bus access and same product data which were used to program the devices.
Building or trade structure as well as name and description texts of areas, lines, devices and group addresses will not be reconstructed because they were not programmed into the device.
Note: Devices with plug-ins can only be read out / reconstructed, if supported by the manufacturer of the plug-ins. In case of doubt please contact the manufacturer or our support.
Devices whose product data cannot be used in the current ETS can not be reconstructed.

The NETx BMS App is a user-friendly way to import the whole KNX project and its meta-information into the NETx Server. The export file contains enhanced information like the used KNX group addresses, the deployed (secure) KNXnet/IP routers and interfaces, and the full ETS project structure including the network topology (areas, lines, devices, and communication objects) as well as the building and trade view. The NETx BMS App also exports the information required to access secure KNXnet/IP routers and interfaces. Furthermore, it allows the export of the configuration of KNX/DALI gateways that is used by the NETx LaMPS Module.
Use this app if you are using ETS5!
"Check and Improve" helps you ensure and improve the formal quality of your ETS projects. This includes the verification and semi-automatic correction of spelling, configurable naming conventions, and the assignment of Datapoint types.
Without much effort, the project gets more clearly arranged, better maintainable and will be the perfect base for further use, e.g. for a visualization.

The Spell checker can make use of many freely available dictionaries in lots of languages e.g. from the OpenOffice and Mozilla projects, plus user dictionaries for additional words.
The naming conventions can be defined by combining building blocks like "alternative", "concatenation", "list of allowed names", "list of names from project", "pattern" etc. to a rule.
The Datapoint type assignment has access to an online database with information currently about approx. 1000 application programs (continuously growing).

Reactivates the protocol EIBlib/IP in ETS (not standardised and since KNXnet/IP redeemed). With this ETS App the establishment of an ETS connection using with this protocol is again possible.
This App will automatically create a snapshot of your ETS project (as knxproj) in a specified, project-specific location.
This is useful if you are working with several projects and want to

The Csv Importer (DCA) enables a simple and effective configuration of the KNX TP communication module CM8400 from Neuberger Gebäudeautomation GmbH.
The configuration can be exported or imported into a CSV file. Via the CSV file, the configuration can be synchronised with the AS project in PMC Studio or re-imported in another project. Thus a laborious configuration by hand is spared.
domovea secured proxy app helps you to establish a secured proxy KNX/IP tunnelling in order to connect safely to a remote KNX installation in ETS.
This app is required to configure the Theben AC IR gateway. With the help of the app, the manufacturer of the split unit and the model of the remote control are loaded into the ETS application.
All Theben AC IR Gateways in the project can be edited simultaneously. The download into the device is then carried out via the normal ETS download.
The "WAREMA KNX Service App" ETS app can be used to manage the firmware of KNX devices from WAREMA Renkhoff SE.
When connected to the internet, the app attempts to download the latest data from the "WAREMA KNX Versions Server" each time the program starts. This downloaded data is locally saved as an offline copy, allowing the app to access it in the future if there is no internet connection.

KNX-MCP – ETS MCP Server for ETS5 and ETS6
Your AI assistant works directly inside the open ETS project.
KNX-MCP is an ETS App with an integrated MCP server (Model Context Protocol). It connects your open ETS project to MCP-compatible AI assistants, either directly or through an MCP gateway or compatible bridge.
The assistant accesses devices, group addresses, parameters, topology and building structures through the official ETS interfaces. It works with the current project data without requiring a project export or a separate copy.
What can you do with KNX-MCP?
KNX-MCP helps you explore and analyse existing KNX installations, check and extend ETS projects, commission installations and troubleshoot KNX systems.
Typical questions and tasks:
• "Which projects are currently open in ETS? Please also list information about each of these projects."
• "Which presence detectors on the 2nd floor are not linked to a lighting group yet?"

Full control over project changes and bus operations
You decide which functions your AI assistant may execute. Each tool can be configured with one of three permission levels: Allowed, Confirmation required or Blocked.
An additional read-only mode prevents project modifications and telegram transmission.
Every project modification is performed as a separate, named step in the ETS undo history. Sending telegrams requires individual confirmation. Device programming is blocked by default.
Multiple ETS projects and AI assistants
KNX-MCP supports both ETS5 and ETS6. Multiple open ETS projects can be accessed through a single MCP endpoint, and several AI assistants can connect simultaneously.
The integration is independent of any particular AI provider. You can use a compatible MCP client directly or connect through an MCP gateway or bridge.
Intelligent tool descriptions and skills
KNX-MCP provides structured tool descriptions and additional guidance to help the AI assistant understand and use the available ETS functions. Many tasks can already be performed without dedicated skills.
Reusable skills and additional practical examples will be made available through the KNX-MCP Community. They are intended to simplify complex and recurring workflows.
Local operation and data privacy
KNX-MCP runs directly inside ETS on your computer. By default, the MCP endpoint is accessible only from the local computer.
There is no central KNX-MCP cloud service through which your ETS project data is routed. You choose which AI assistant to connect and which provider, if any, processes your data.
